A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Designer. You will be: Ensure high service levels are provided and newness in design is given. Proficient in Adobe Software, including Illustrator and Photoshop (minimum 2-3 years’ experience) See concept designs through to production, working closely with buyers and factories to ensure the brief is met. Work closely with technologists and merchandisers, to ensure products fit and find solutions to any problems in production. Researching trends, and creating mood boards for new projects and seasons ahead. Collaborate with other creatives in the Design team to ensure a common vision and consistent branding across the business. Attending customer meetings and prepare for presentations. Design to a brief and amend as buyer requests, display experience of liaising with buyers requests and demands. Creating exclusive designs, with awareness of cost and factory restrictions. Prepare design packs, including technical drawing and size specs. Thorough understanding of the current market and research of retailers to ensure handwriting is in line. Manage day to day work load, working closely with buyers and factories to ensure deadlines are met for samples and designs. Develop new products with the factories from research, requesting new fabrics and embellishments. Reasonable travel, including factory visits and regular comparative shopping in the UK and overseas. A rapidly expanding company, the successful candidate will play an intricate part in an evolving team to fully support the HR function throughout the business. Attending internal fit meetings, with QA for each individual style, to check all PP samples, and Production samples for all details including fit, fabric cols, qualities, prints and trims. Updating and creating workbooks, for each order. Managing the critical path efficiently, by gaining approval of lab dips, bulk fabrics, knit downs, prints and trims, samples & labelling. Resolving any problems that may arise on a daily basis with suppliers. Checking all label & barcode layouts. Updating and maintaining supplier manuals. Checking and approving all invoices, and packing lists prior to shipment, and ensuring suppliers have made bookings for Freight, and approving vessel schedules will be met, and updating our shipping dept. Chasing to ensure goods are handed over on time, and meet the correct scheduled vessel. You will have: Fashion Degree or similar. At least 4 years' experience in a similar role working for a supplier. Experience managing the critical path. Competent user of Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook and Excel. Job Overview: We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Garment Technologist with specialised knowledge in lingerie, swimwear, and/or nightwear to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring the products meet the highest standards in fit, quality and comfort. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for technical details, proficiency in creating and grading size specifications, and the ability to collaborate closely with buyers, designers, and suppliers. Knowledge of garment testing would be an advantage. Key Responsibilities: Technical Development – Experience Essential: Work with the design team pre-design to ensure styles are correctly CAD’d and BOMS are correct. Create, update, and manage technical specifications (size specs) and grading for all assigned products for development and sampling with the factory, liaising continuously with the factories. Ensure all garments across lingerie, swimwear, and nightwear, meet fit, comfort, and quality requirements through rigorous checks. Conduct fittings both internally and at customer meetings, analyse garment fit, and construction and make recommendations for improvements, ensuring the end product meets the design vision and technical requirements. Monitor critical path in conjunction with the merchandiser to ensure timely approval of fit samples, pre-production samples and gold seals. Develop size grading for each product type, ensuring consistency across the size range. Willingness and ability to travel to customer meetings when required and be present in the office a minimum of 3 days per week. Ideal/Advantageous Experience: Help develop and implement quality control standards and testing protocols (e.g., fabric testing, colour fastness, etc) to ensure product durability and compliance. Collaborate with suppliers and testing labs to ensure that materials meet company standards. Identify and resolve potential quality or production issues before they impact the final product. Collaboration and Communication: Work directly with buyers, garment techs and designers to align on product specifications, technical needs, and quality standards. Conduct face-to-face meetings with garment techs and buyers to present and discuss garment specifications, address fit feedback, and resolve any technical concerns.
