Our client is the UK's leading supplier of children's, ladies, and men's licensed character and non-licensed nightwear, daywear, and swimwear. Their extensive retail supply chain includes top high street stores, supermarkets and online retailers. They collaborate with overseas factories located in Turkey, China, India, and Bangladesh.

We are seeking an experienced Import Merchandiser to join their dynamic head office team based in Altrincham, Cheshire. This role is integral in overseeing the flow of merchandising orders from initial artwork to bulk production and final approval.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the merchandising process from artwork stage to bulk production.
  • Collaborate with Design & Sales Teams during the initial stages of Cad designs.
  • Focus on buying samples and work closely with retail buyers for submissions and approvals.
  • Send design artwork packs to overseas factories.
  • Contact factories and verify all styling and product details.
  • Ensure accuracy of retail purchase orders before processing.
  • Receive pre-production samples and manage submissions with buyers and licensors.
  • Check print positions and templates for compliance.
  • Maintain internal and retail critical paths, ensuring timely order delivery.
  • Address any shipment delays professionally with both factories and customers.
  • Utilize internal product development systems, production schedules, and licensor approval platforms.

 

About You:

  • Experience in a Merchandiser role, preferably in Baby/Kidswear.
  • A positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Confident verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-organized, flexible, with strong analytical and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Full driving license is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Office, Word, and Excel.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a self-motivated proactive individual with knowledge in sleepwear product and graphic design to work alongside a senior sleepwear designer. You will work collaboratively with our UK retail buyers and China merchandising team to deliver a seamless product development process to key customers. Key Responsibilities: Trend and regular design /retail research. Designing innovative, functional, attractive, and commercial products. Fully engaged in the complete design process, from designing concepts, including working on briefs. Hold a knowledge of fabric, construction applicable to knit, woven fabrications. Make sure collections meet partner brand guidelines in line with internal critical paths. Working closely with China development team to make sure product specifications are adhered to and products are delivered within costs. Attending regular meetings regarding designs, and a strong understanding of the current high street, trends and the ability to look forward and anticipate new trends. Design seasonal capsule collections along with key shapes, colour palettes and fabric direction, with a strong commercial handwriting. A relevant Fashion/Textile Design degree. Strong communication and time management skills. Self-motivation & enthusiasm, able to work towards tight deadlines. Import Merchandiser Greater Manchester A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Import Merchandiser to join a well-established childrenswear client. This role requires you to have a sound knowledge and understanding of the critical path. You will be: Raising & maintaining purchase orders on the SAP system. Creating and managing the critical path. Attending internal fit meetings, with QA for each individual style, to check all PP samples, and Production samples for all details including fit, fabric cols, qualities, prints and trims. Updating and creating workbooks, for each order. Managing the critical path efficiently, by gaining approval of lab dips, bulk fabrics, knit downs, prints and trims, samples & labelling. Resolving any problems that may arise on a daily basis with suppliers. Checking all label & barcode layouts. Updating and maintaining supplier manuals. Checking and approving all invoices, and packing lists prior to shipment, and ensuring suppliers have made bookings for Freight, and approving vessel schedules will be met, and updating our shipping dept. Chasing to ensure goods are handed over on time, and meet the correct scheduled vessel. You will have: Fashion Degree or similar. At least 4 years' experience in a similar role working for a supplier. Experience managing the critical path. Competent user of Microsoft Office, in particular Outlook and Excel. Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
