Import / Wholesale Merchandiser

Our client is regarded as one of the leading suppliers of men’s and women’s private label and branded products to high street retailers and wholesalers worldwide. They use market intelligence gathered from across the globe, to develop on trend and commercially viable products for the men’s and women’s fashion apparel markets across the globe. There is now an opportunity to join this fantastic company as an Import Merchandiser

You will be:

  • Collating overviews of all ranges/teams to update Production Manager
  • Presenting updates in production meetings to the wider business.
  • Building strong supplier relationships to support partnership approach
  • Reviewing Production Critical path data
  • Factory schedules - checking to make sure all orders on and planned with correct dates.
  • Plan fabric critical path with fabric team and giving details of cut dates to sales team.
  • Weekly production meeting with internal teams.

You will have:

  • 5  years of experience of working in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of garment manufacturing, production line management and raw material management. 
  • Ability to work within strict deadlines and able to be adaptive to changes
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and ever-changing business environment
  • Flexible approach and willingness to further learn & adapt in a fast pace growing business
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office, including Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong attention to detail & a natural problem solver
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Organisation, planning, able to juggle multiple projects at once
  • Confidence in own ability to challenge current ways of working, whilst delivering recommendations for improved process

Arranging couriers and managing photo samples Being market aware and attending and recording comparative competitive research. Attending customer meetings and trade shows when required. Drive to visit stores for research purposes. Work across multi-disciplinary products and teams, sometimes multi-tasking across different products daily. Confidently convey product knowledge and pricing to retail buyers with the support of the sales manager. Ideal candidate: Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook, experience in use of Zoom and Microsoft teams Excellent organization skills Highly motivated Team player Able to meet deadlines Keen interest in home textiles Ability to work independently and collaboratively Keen eye for detail The position is full time Monday – Friday with hybrid working considered. 12 month initial contract. Full training will be given.

We are seeking an experienced Import Merchandiser to join their dynamic head office team based in Altrincham, Cheshire. This role is integral in overseeing the flow of merchandising orders from initial artwork to bulk production and final approval. Key Responsibilities: Manage the merchandising process from artwork stage to bulk production. Collaborate with Design & Sales Teams during the initial stages of Cad designs. Focus on buying samples and work closely with retail buyers for submissions and approvals. Send design artwork packs to overseas factories. Contact factories and verify all styling and product details. Ensure accuracy of retail purchase orders before processing. Receive pre-production samples and manage submissions with buyers and licensors. Check print positions and templates for compliance. Maintain internal and retail critical paths, ensuring timely order delivery. Address any shipment delays professionally with both factories and customers. Utilize internal product development systems, production schedules, and licensor approval platforms. About You: Experience in a Merchandiser role, preferably in Baby/Kidswear.
